Route44 gig July 30th 2010
I had been looking forward to this gig as a previous one scheduled in March had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, and boy was it worth the wait...
What an incredible and talented bunch of guys fronted by a very powerful front man. They were well rehearsed and you could tell by the smiles that they genuinely enjoy what they do and judging by the crowd reaction so did they. The set list included " Natural Thing " "Mother Mary " Self Made Man " Venus " Pushed To The Limit " etc as well as "Try Me" which had the vocals of Graham Knight making the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. There were also the crowd pleasers like "Rock Bottom" (of which the guitar work of Mark Elder was just awesome),"Doctor Doctor" & "Shoot Shoot. The rest of the band Graham Iles(keyboard & rhythm guitar) Rob Day Smith provided an excellent back line & Baz Gwilliam is probably one of the best drummers around. The comment of the night was from a guy stood in front of me he said " I was expecting a dodgy ufo tribute band but that was pure excellence , and I for one couldn’t agree more ...... all in all a great night and am waiting for the next gig excitedly.
